At FKK, we hear this question fairly frequently. This isn't surprising. There are nudists spread out around the U.S., and not everyone has a unclothed beach or naturist resort or club nearby. Even if they do, some can not manage to join their local naturist club or do not have the transportation to get there.
So, how else does one meet other local nudist individuals or nude-favorable groups?
We have some thoughts to share for joining with fellow nudists both online and off line.
Meeting
http://nudist-young.comIf you haven't already, see if there are any alternative places nearby for a nudie to visit besides a club or resort.
Examples of alternative nudie surroundings:
- Swimming holes or areas in nature that have a tradition of skinny dipping, for example ponds, rivers and lakes in national parks or forests. The website swimmingholes.org has a comprehensive list of swimming holes throughout the country (though we don't understand how often it gets updated). It has both textile and naked areas, so try to find the ones specifically noted to have a skinny dipping tradition. Bear in mind the people who frequent these places do not always call themselves naturists. Since these places are usually free and open to the general public, they attract all sorts of people. But if other people are there skinny dipping, you undoubtedly have a common interest!
- If you are into yoga, then check out your local naked yoga courses. Many times nude yoga instructors will sponsor courses in a neighborhood studio and not at a nearby nudist club. These courses can form a community when the exact same individuals return week after week.
- Naked spas. These kinds of locations are probably the least conducive to meeting people. They're usually gender-segregated and a lot of people are simply there to relax and unwind not to make friends. But if the vibe is right, it can nevertheless be a place to meet likeminded folks.
How to meet nudists & make nudie pals
These aren't naturist occasions, but they do attract nudies and individuals who are open to naturist actions.
How you can meet naturist people there: I know it can be intimidating to approach strangers, despite the fact that you're both naked and enjoying precisely the same tasks. It appears to be particularly challenging for single men, who are, regrettably, most frequently suppose before they even say a word.
Being with a buddy can make the experience more relaxing and enjoyable. It may give you more confidence and also give you more legitimacy when it comes to how others see you. (Hate to say it, but if you are a man, a woman will probably be more open to speaking to you if you're
follow ed by a female friend.)
If you don't have a friend to accompany you to a nudie spot, (because duh, that's why you are going there to begin with), try looking for an excuse to start a dialog with others you can ask someone to shoot your image (without getting others in the backdrop of course), or see if they are a regular there and ask them a few questions about the area. If
naturism is strained or they definitely want to be left alone, it is best to politely end the conversation and proceed.
Meeting Local Nudist People and Nudist Groups Online:
You can even try meeting locals through naturist social networks and forums. Most of these websites are rudimentary and poorly designed. That said, they may be however free and used by nudists all over the world.
Some naturist on-line social networks / forums to try:
But if you've got the patience, there are great folks on there.
The Naktiv Nook - www.naktiv.net This is one of the newer social networks for naturists, but it appears to be doing nicely, as they say they've now reached 4,000 members. This network has a odd policy against dreary selfies, but it is otherwise one to look into.
This network was designed in France. I've never used it, but have no reason to believe it's not legitimate.
NudistClubhouse.com - same sort as truenudists.com.
Naturist Corner - www.naturist-corner.net (forum)
Naturist Websites to avert: nudist relationship scam websites.
Other on-line networks and groups where you're able to meet local nudists through:
Despite Facebook's draconian censorship policies against nudity, you'll find many nudist groups on there. We have a chief FKK group of over 6,000 people (and growing rapidly!) from all over the world.
Create your own group for naturists:
FKK is no longer starting new chapters, but we do help, support and promote other valid young naturist groups and new groups in general.
Meetup.com is a good site to start with. It costs $12 / month for group coordinators, though you could recoup this cost by charging a group membership or charging for some Meetups. (It's otherwise free to use for non-coordinators.) It may be recommended to have a free, clothed meet-up at a neighborhood cafe as a preliminary assembly. This would create a less intimidating surroundings for potential newbies and would additionally assist you to screen individuals for nude events.
You may also create a Facebook group and encourage it in other nudist / naturist Facebook groups.
FB has different privacy choices for groups:
The edges of a closed group are that folks can locate it in Facebook investigations and you can share it by linking to it. The disadvantage is that you'll need certainly to work harder to screen random individuals who ask to join.
It can not be found in investigations, and it doesn't show up on anyone's profile / timeline. This is preferred by those who don't need their FB buddies to understand they're in the group. The only way you'll be able to add new individuals to it is by becoming Facebook friends with them first.
You can always start with a closed group so as to boost it and later on alter it to secret.
Craigslist.org is also another site for meeting people, whether you are posting to meet like minded buddies, or for encouraging your new group. It has its bad eggs like any site, but it is entirely possible to meet the right people, also.
So that is our guide! What did we leave out, readers? What is your expertise in striving to meet likeminded locals outside of clubs / resorts?
